WHO WE ARE
Members of Friends of Freedom International (FOFI) believe that all human beings are born free and equal with dignity and rights. As humans, we are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood as espoused by the values and principals of most major religions and philosophical belief systems around the world.
The FOFI believe that no local, regional, national or international government or non-government corporate entity has the right to engage in any activity that limits or destroys our ability to act with reason and conscience. Most particularly when it comes to the areas of informed freedom of choice in health care for our personal care, family care and animal care.
OUR MISSION STATEMENT
FOFI members believe that:
World trade rules and regulations pertaining to food, dietary food supplements and naturally-derived medicinal products should take into account the diverse needs of human beings, the impact on small and large manufacturers and suppliers and focus on ensuring maximum access to the public of safe products & services. There should be similar rules on a level playing field that applies to all foods, beverages, procedures, devices, especially with synthetic products that are designed for human or animal use.
Dietary food supplements, medicinal herb components and other naturally-derived products should be regulated as food and be available on the open market with no limits on dosage levels without substantial proof showing limitations are required to protect the public from harm or death. Synthetic products, devices & procedures, whether for human or animal use, should be evaluated for safety and efficacy before they are allowed on the open market being properly evaluated.
The average human being should have access to all evidence, pro and con, to decide what supplements and medicine they should take to use to restore and maintain their own health. It is essential that all people be provided with truthful and meaningful information from a range of sources in order to make informed decisions.
The role of government should be limited to making sure no false or fraudulent information is used to mislead the public. Products need to be properly labeled as to content, use and manufacturing information. If there is substantial information available of a particular food or substance is a serious risk to the public, the government should have the authority to have the product properly labelled warning the public as to its risks.
The practice of any healing art should be equal in the eyes of the law and not judged by the standards of practice of other healing arts. This includes modern biochemical science, physics or cultural traditions. Practices which are inherently more risky such as surgery, radiation, toxic drugs need strict regulation and detailed reporting of adverse events that need to be publically available. On the other hand, practices that are normally generally regarded as safe with no meaningful documented adverse events should be allowed the widest latitude and be available to the public without unnecessary regulation. Every death of humans and animals should be carefully analyzed and collected for data reporting on the cause of death for public information purposes.
Local citizen-control of public health policy is the best way to meet the needs of individuals.
Local citizen-controlled, private sector initiatives offer the most cost-effective way to provide medical and health services.
Government and non-government corporations are created by humans. They should be subject to human authority not the other way around and not granted the legal identity of ‘artificial person’ status under law with any rights that are endowed to humans by birthright.
Stockholders and owners of corporations should be held accountable for the actions of the corporation and not be shielded from responsibility through legal means.
We invite like minded individuals to join with us in a worldwide effort to support these goals.
